T-Mobile USA has inked a deal with Verizon Wireless that will allow operator to purchase and exchange of certain Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum licenses in 218 markets across the U.S. The transaction will improve T-Mobile’s spectrum position in 15 of the top 25 markets in the U.S.

Finland’s mobile network operator Elisa has selected Nokia Siemens Networks for first phase LTE rollout, 3G expansions and upgrades as well as GSM modernization.

AT&T has launched 4G LTE service in 13 new markets. With this expansion, AT&T 4G LTE is now live in 437 markets and covers 240 million people. AT&T LTE network is expected to cover nearly 270 million people by year-end 2013.

Aptilo Networks has announced plans to add LTE to its portfolio of service management and policy control solutions for operators.

Verizon Wireless' LTE network is now available in 28 new markets and operator has expanded the network in 11 additional markets today. According to Verizon, with the new and expanded markets, Its LTE network is available in 258 markets across the United States, covering more than two-thirds of the U.S. population.

Leap Wireless International has entered into license exchange agreements with T-Mobile USA (T-Mobile), Cook Inlet/VS GSM VII PCS LLC, a joint venture between T-Mobile and Cook Inlet, and Leap's non-controlled, majority-owned venture Savary Island Wireless, LLC (Savary Island) to exchange wireless spectrum in various markets.

3G and LTE small cells maker Ubiquisys has raised $19m in an oversubscribed round. The company will use the capital to generate further profitable growth and accelerate delivery of innovative tri-mode 3G/LTE/WiFi small cell hotspots.
