Arqiva and Alcatel-Lucent have announced a LTE trial in the Preseli Mountains, West Wales.

UK's operator EE has showcased 2.8Gbps download speeds across an end-to-end 5G test network in its UK mobile lab. The test was carried out in partnership with Huawei and linked the fully virtualized 5G core to the 64x64 Massive MIMO active antenna unit broadcasting 5G New Radio.

Belgium's operator, Belgacom has launched commercial LTE services in eight cities in the country.  The eight cities are Hasselt, Antwerp, Ghent, Leuven, Liège, Namur, Mons, Waver and the Haasrode Industrial Park. operator started rolling out the 4G network in June 2011.

Bhutan Telecom has announced that operator will be launching the 4G LTE service in country on 24th October 2013. Initially 4G LTE service will be available only in Thimphu in selected areas. 

T-Mobile, Nokia, and Qualcomm, have exceeded gigabit speeds using evolved, commercially-available 4G LTE technology. In tests at T-Mobile’s lab last week, download speeds of 1.175 Gbps were achieved on T-Mobile’s LTE network utilizing Nokia’s AirScale Base Station together with the Snapdragon X20 LTE modem.
