11 Telecom companies including Qualcomm are expected to bid in the broadband wireless spectrum auctions (BWA) starting Monday on May 24. 

February 16, 2010 - Recent Voice over LTE testing confirms that VoLGA (Voice over LTE via Generic Access) outperforms current 3G network call-setup times by nearly 40 percent.

South Korea's operator SK Telecom has selected Ericsson to extend its LTE network. The LTE network extension will be carried out by Ericsson's operating unit in Korea, LG-Ericsson and is scheduled to be completed within the first half of this year.

UK regulator Ofcom today started 4G Auction Process by taking the application from the potential bidders along with an initial deposit of £100,000. All applications will be reviewed by Ofcom to check that the applicants are qualified to take part in the auction. 

Agri-Valley Communications, a rural internet service provider in the US, will soon offer high-speed wireless broadband in certain rural areas of Michigan.

ZTE has successfully completed phase-1 5G transport test in cooperation with Telefonica at its Future Networks Lab in Madrid, Spain. In this test, ZTE provided the new 5G Flexhaul solution, a transport solution integrating fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul features.
