South Korean operator KT has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as one of its LTE mobile broadband infrastructure and services vendors.

State-owned Indian telecom major BSNL will expand its WiMAX and wireline coverage to provide broadband connectivity to 2.50 lakh villages across the country over the next 2-3 years.

South Korean operator LG U+ has introduced voice over LTE (VoLTE) services to its customers in partnership with Ericsson's subsidiary LG-Ericsson. Cellcom Israel has launched its LTE network in the country after having received the Israeli Ministry of Communication approval to use a 5MHZ 1800MHz frequency band (already in the Company's possession) for its LTE network, under certain conditions, even before the completion of the previously reported 4G frequencies tender.

Huawei and South Korea's mobile operator LG Uplus have jointly completed a commercial network field trail of 3 different band Carrier Aggregation (3CC CA). LG Uplus currently has 7.5 million LTE subscribers across three commercial LTE network bandwidths of 800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz.
