ZTE has completed commercial ground-air FDD-LTE-based broadband network test in cooperation with Hainan Airlines, company announced today. The test occurred in February 2013 on Hainan Airlines Flight HU7137 Beijing to Xi’an. Internet connectivity was available for 70 minutes of the two-hour flight.

Russia's mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has selected Ericsson to deploy the LTE network in four regions covering more than half of Russia. Under the three-year agreement and starting in Q2, 2013, Ericsson will roll out LTE in the Siberian, Ural, Volga, and Southern Federal Districts of Russia.

Verizon Wireless LTE network now covers 473 markets. Earlier this week, operator launched LTE network in Keen & Lebanon in New Hampshire.  Verizon Wireless also has further expanded its LTE network in some New Hampshire communities.

Slovenia's mobile operator, Si.mobil has announced launch of its commercial LTE services. Si.mobil is a part of international telecommunication group Telekom Austria. Operator is currently offering LTE services in Ljubljana, Brnik, and Bled. 

Claro has selected Ericsson as the supplier of the operator's LTE network in Costa Rica. Ericsson's LTE solution will include several core and radio access infrastructure products such as Mobility Management Entity, Home Subscriber Server, the RBS 6000 family, and microwave transmission

Communications service provider MTS has introduced LTE Wireless technology in Manitoba, Canada. According to company, customers on MTS’s 4G LTE Network have been enjoying even faster speeds since the end of August.
