Canada's Rogers Communications has signed a new agreement with Switzerland's Swisscom to deliver bilateral LTE roaming to customers of both mobile service providers. As of July 31st, Rogers and Swisscomm customers travelling with a 2600 MHz device can have LTE service while in Canada or Switzerland.

Australian carrier Telstra has announced the plan to extend 4G LTE coverage to a further 200 regional towns across Australia in the next six months, including towns such as Batemans Bay (NSW), Colac (VIC), Biloela (QLD), Berri (SA), Margaret River (WA) and Latrobe (TAS).

According to a new In-Stat report small cell base stations—femtocells, picocells, and microcells—are going to have a large role in this deployment strategy.
