ZTE has announced a proprietary Magic Radio Spectrum Solution product that achieves deployment of GSM and LTE within the same band. According to company, it significantly enhances spectrum utilization and improves efficiency by up to 50 per cent.

South Korean carrier SK Telecom has started using Multi Carrier (MC) technology in its LTE network commercially to offer faster LTE services. Operator plans to cover the whole Seoul area within 2012 and 23 other major cities by early 2013.

O2 (Telefónica UK) has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to prepare its LTE network across London and the South East of England. The UK operator is anticipating a rapid launch of 4G following Ofcom’s spectrum auctions scheduled for early 2013.

Vodafone plans to deploy mobile broadband 4G network in selected areas in Greece this year. Vodafone began in 2010 the deployment of 4G LTE network in Europe, and today its 4G networks are already deployed for commercial use in Germany and Portugal, whereas pilot testing continues in a series of countries.
