Portugal Telecom has selected Huawei to launch commercial LTE services in Portugal using tit's SingleRAN LTE solution. According to Huawei, with it's SingleRAN LTE solution, operator will integrate existing GSM networks and new LTE networks on a single platform to provide end users with seamless mobile services. 

The E-Plus Group will launch a TD-LTE field trial in Germany in Q1 2011. The trial is based on 2.6 GHz spectrum that E-Plus acquired in the German spectrum auction.

Taiwanese regulator National Communications Commission (NCC) has given postive signals to allow WiMAX opertaors to upgrade LTE using allocated spectrum.

According to ABI Research, LTE subscriptions are racing ahead of expectations and point to strong demand for fast wireless data connections.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has initiated steps to make additional spectrum available for new investment in mobile broadband networks.  

Ericsson and SoftBank Mobile are working together to further improve the user experience in congested network environments with new Mobility-based Policy. The demonstration connects mobility management and policy control to optimize radio resources and reduce signaling traffic.

ZTE has completed a series of tests between TD-LTE and 2G/3G GSM/UMTS networks using 3GPP circuit switching fallback (CSFB).
