Taiwan's operator, Chunghwa Telecom has picked Nokia Solutions and Networks as a supplier to its 4G LTE network, targeting a fast and smooth roll-out in 2014. In addition, the operator extended its existing contract with NSN as supplier of its 3G HSPA+ network to further increase the network capacity. 

Telecom solutions provider Argela has selected Picochip as the core technology supplier for its femtocell developments.

Huawei has announced today the successful completion of advanced LTE Active Antenna System (AAS) on a LTE trial network for Deutsche Telekom in Germany.  AAS LTE trial was based on Huawei's AAS solution and integrates active transceiver array with the passive antenna array to reduce cable loss and simplify site engineering.

Hrvatski Telekom launched commercial LTE-based 4G network in Croatia. The first LTE base stations are located in Zagreb, Rijeka, Osijek and Split. The plan is to expand the LTE network coverage to other urban areas in Croatia in the upcoming period as well.

Vodafone New Zealand has launched 4G LTE Network in 1800MHz frequency band. Vodafone's LTE network is live now in parts of Auckland and the network will expand to more suburbs in coming weeks.  LTE will be available in parts of Christchurch in May, and parts of Wellington in August/September 2013.

Japanese operator KDDI has selected Ericsson as one of the prime vendors to deploy its LTE system and Evolved Packet Core network. The radio access network is based on LTE FDD.

Australia's Telstra, GSMA and GSA have launched a major promotion of the APT700 spectrum band for 4G networks. The band is already identified for use in markets covering more than two billion people. The new campaign will highlight further the many socio-economic benefits of greater global alignment around this band.
