The first-ever auction of the radio frequency spectrum for third generation (3G) telephony that would facilitate high-speed mobile services in India began on Friday.
With wireless subscription having reached to 441.66 Million, India has yet to catchup with other countries in 3G and LTE (Long Term Evolution) deployments.
AT&T has announced LTE and HSPA+ upgradable modems, USBConnect Adrenaline from LG will be LTE-capable while the USBConnect Shockwave from Sierra Wireless will offer HSPA+ connectivity.
